FuelQuest and Energy Management Institute to Deliver Innovative Fuel Management Course
Industry Leaders Host Training in Austin March 29 – April 1

HOUSTON – (December 16, 2009) – FuelQuest, Inc., the leading on-demand software and services company for the global downstream energy industry, announced today its partnership with Energy Management Institute (EMI) to host a customized, fuel management course at Grail 2010, FuelQuest’s 6th annual user conference. The EMI program “Professional Gasoline & Fuel Management: Fundamentals of Purchasing & Hedging” will be held March 29 – March 30, at The Hilton Austin, the Grail 2010 location.

The 1½-day course will highlight the challenges facing today’s downstream market and introduce Grail attendees to all of the tools available for managing ongoing fuel volatility and their direct impact on business and operating margins. Developed for fuel suppliers, distributors, buyers and traders, the course will present real-world case studies and reveal best practices for:

The instructor team will present several purchasing and risk management scenarios along with specific hedging strategies and policies that will allow participants to develop strategic hedging plans aligned to the goals and objectives of their companies.

“With 2009 likely to end with oil prices well over 50% above where they ended in 2008, I am now expecting oil demand to outstrip supply in 2010 and expect prices to continue their upward recovery,” said Dominick Chirichella, senior partner, EMI. “An upside oil price scenario for 2010 is becoming more likely, making it business-critical to take advantage of the tools and techniques to mitigate the negative impact of higher oil prices on margins. This joint conference will be a first step in building or enhancing an overall fuel strategy.”

FuelQuest’s 6th annual user conference, Grail: “Fueling Business” will be held March 31 – April 1, and will feature high-impact, learning sessions on fuel management and tax determination. The event will bring together industry thought leaders and over 200 FuelQuest and Zytax customers for two-days of product training, product roadmap and new features reviews, and solution best practices.

“We are excited to offer a comprehensive conference for all industry executives, including partners and long term customers,” said Ted Pardee, vice president of sales and marketing for FuelQuest. “Our partnership with EMI brings together innovative and proven best practices in fuel management for every business leader that strategically manages their fuel supply for operational excellence and competitive advantage."
