Fuel Demand Data Center

Gain unprecedented access to actual wholesale level demand data from electronic wholesale transactions – not self-reported surveys or estimated data.
EMI is now reporting rack-level electronic data from actual wholesale transactions, not self-reported surveys or estimate data. Data includes daily barrel liftings by rack city by specific gasoline, diesel, and other product categories. The data is updated and distributed daily in flexible formats for our subscribers. Reporting also includes our weighted rack average prices to monetize individual market opportunities daily.
Let’s face it; everyone knows how much volume they move with data received from internal inventory management and accounting systems. But what you don’t know is overall market demand and volume. Are your liftings up because demand is up, or are you priced too low? Are you gaining or losing market share? Should you be decreasing refinery throughput due to declining demand? Is your decision making limited to spot-to-rack or spot-to-NYMEX basis; doesn’t it make more sense to look at spot-to-volume-weighted market averages? After all, what good is a basis differential if there is no demand? How much better could you optimize your supply logistics if you knew total liftings by rack, by state, by pipe, and by spot market origin each and every day? Do you spend more time chasing supply versus managing your business?
With information from EMI Fuel Demand Data Center, you can:

Unpredictable spikes in daily wholesale rack demand can have immediate consequences, catching the market off guard. Monitoring the delicate balance of supply and demand is the one of the most important fundamental factors in petroleum markets today.
Our demand side data is shown by logical industry regions and custom feeds allow users to drill down to see how much product is being consumed at individual rack cities across the U.S.
Data covers all major petroleum products: oxygenated, reformulated, and conventional motor gasoline, along with three grades of distillate by sulfur content. In addition, fuel ethanol, naphtha, kerosene, jet/kero fuel, residual fuel oil and biodiesel are tracked where available. While it is impossible to electronically track every barrel moved, EMI’s demand data represents more than 80% of total U.S. gasoline and distillate volume. Data includes weighted rack average prices. Some content provided by Telvent DTN.
